First Guerrilla Art Show Announced, Friday Dec 12, 2017 6-9PM!

Studio Gallery 1311 will be hosting the first of what we hope will be many “Guerrilla Art Shows” Friday, December 1, 2017, 6-9PM. “Guerrilla” in this context refers to an impromptu event that is very loosely run and organized. Such events have their roots in the street art movement and are sometimes called “pop up” shows. Our version is a little different: artists are invited by a secret committee, the names are not published or publicized in advance. Artist are free to show whatever they like, subject to a few simple rules, in the medium/media the artist uses such as painting, printmaking, sculpture, collage, and mixed media to name a few. Artist are not even required to exhibit in true name, so there could be some real surprises! All of the artwork is hung by the invited artists an hour before the show opens and comes down at the end of the night. It is a one night only unique type of art event that you'll want to see for yourself.

Some reasons to attend:

Who and what is showing up for the show is a mystery. That alone is worth the price of admission (which is free BTW).

Some really cool art folks will be there talking about their work and art in general.

Some of the participating artists might choose to price a work well below market value in keeping with the impromptu and fun nature of the event.

It is a great chance to view and acquire a really recent or even experimental piece of artwork by some really talented local and regional artists.

So here’s the important stuff:
